Throughout the years gamers have come up with various ways to get their old games to work. Some would recommend blowing in them, others would say spray discs with windex. There are many various tricks that get games playing, heres a list of various methods that we use here at the shop.With Cartridge games the first thing you should always do is clean the pins. Using a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol rub the pins and the plastic surrounding them to remove all dust and dirt. If there is any green corrosion and nail file can be used to remove it.The Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 can have the pins on the actual consoles cleaned. Simply wrap a paper towel around a credit card and dampen it with alcohol. Rub the card inside the systems pins to remove dirt and grime that can be preventing games from being read. A toothbrush is another good tool for cleaning pins on systems.Sometimes a cleaned NES cart isn’t enough. A trick used by many to get games to play is in the way you insert it into the console. When inserting it into the console, push it down the whole way in and let it slam down from the plastic. This usually gets it a better connection.
