It’s a new year and video game consoles still need to be repaired, which is what we are here for. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox one consoles are truly starting to show just how much they resemble their PS3 and Xbox 360 first generation counterparts. We are experiencing many overheating issues, disc drive and laser errors, hard drive failures and systems not connecting to the internet or not being able to update. Most of these problems are generally fixable and the prices range anywhere from $75 to $120. Replacing disc drives in the Xbox one and PlayStation 4 is very similar to the older consoles.
All it requires is a simple solder job and replacing the original daughter card into the new disc drive. It is actually much easier on the Xbox One and PS4 as they require less soldering. The hard drive issues on these consoles tend to be slightly trickier as the updates need to be tried a few times before they stop saying the update file is corrupt. Hopefully in future models of these consoles they will update much easier. Many are asking whether or not the next console models will be all digital seeing as how this would eliminate all problems pertaining to disc drives and making it impossible to lose games.
