As the second year of the Xbox one and PS4 winds down, many design flaws have become apparent as well as the necessary steps that need to be taken to fix these issues. The Xbox one has not shown to have too many issues, however the disc drive has been known to lock up or have the laser burn out. It is possible to change out the laser however changing out the disc drive itself tends to be the easier and more efficient. The playstation 4 has issues with the disc drive, GPU and HDMI port. The HDMI port is probably the most common problem. The system must be taken apart to the motherboard and shipped off to our facility up north to have a new port soldered onto the board. The process takes about 2 weeks however the new port will last much longer. The disc drive problems are the easiest and cheapest to fix. The cylinders that roll the disc into the drive can pop out of place and must be realigned. The process is quick and simple. Not much can go wrong. The GPU issues are the same as YLOD or RROD only with a blue light. A reflow is all the system needs to be repaired.
